Casual Support Workers

If you are tired of only earning a minimum wage, in a job that doesn’t value you or your values, come and work as a support worker with Care Plus Services. We are seeking multiple Support Workers to provide quality support and care to our continuously growing number of clients in our Home and Community Care Service.

Please read the requirements listed, however, please understand we want the right people and not just the right qualifications. If you are the right person for our team, we are happy to help you gain the qualifications and experience to become the best Support Worker you can possibly be.

About you

You are adaptable and resilient, have a positive and person-centered approach, qualified and motivated with experience in supporting participants with challenging behaviours. You will aid with all aspects of daily living, including meals, personal care, domestic duties, social and community participation and varying skill development activities.

This is a hands-on role, suitable for active individuals. Above all else, we seek team members who strive to develop genuine relationships with not only the people they support but also other staff members.

Essential

To be considered for this role the following credentials are essential:

• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Card within the ACT
• Both NDIS Online Modules (Orientation & Induction)
• National Police Clearance (dated within 6 months)
• Valid Australian Driver’s License
• Current Right to Work within Australia
• Covid-19 Booster Certificate
• Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance

The following certifications (or working towards) will be highly regarded:

• Min Cert III in Disability, Community Services or Individual Support, or similar
• Assist with Medication Certificate

Desirable

• Experience with working with people with complex behaviors is highly recommended including Autism & Mental Health.
• Experience with hygiene & dressing clients.
• Comfortable working with people with a range of disabilities.
• Ability to build and manage friendly relationships within a team environment.
• Critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritise & work under pressure.
